Supply chain management remains one of the business processes that is least integrated with sustainability principles, research has shown.
A McKinsey global survey revealed only 41 per cent of respondents said their companies had integrated it with supply chain management, ahead only of budgeting (39 per cent). The most integrated is mission and values, followed by external communications (see graph). The survey, the sixth on this topic, also showed that, compared to last year larger shares of executives reported sustainability programmes made a positive contribution to their companies’ short- and long-term value.
