Ron Jarman

is head of global procurement at Reuters, the information company, where he oversees an 80-strong team. Prior to joining the firm in 2005 he spent seven years in senior roles at Diageo, latterly in charge of IT procurement. Ron has also worked at British American Tobacco and British Sugar, where he started his career, and is the current president of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

 

 

 

 

 

George Yip

is vice-president and director of research and innovation at Capgemini Consulting in London. He is also a professor at London Business School and previously taught at Harvard, Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge. He is the author of several books, including Managing Global Customers (2007), Total Global Strategy (2003) and Asian Advantage (2000), and articles in journals such as Harvard Business Review.

 

 

 

 

 

Gerard Chick

is head of knowledge management at the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the UK. Since joining CIPS in 2002 he has focused on cutting-edge procurement practice and the impact of the latest academic thinking on it. Previously, Gerard was head of research services at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He holds a masters in the philosophy of social research.

 

 

 

 

Mike Lewis

is professor of supply strategy at the University of Bath’s School of Management in the UK. Prior to joining in 2004, he taught at Warwick Business School and the University of Cambridge. Mike has also held visiting appointments at Harvard Business School and Georgetown University in the US. He has co-authored several books on operations management and consulted for a range of firms in Europe.

 

 

 

 

Mark Webb

is chief executive of consultancy Future Purchasing and has spent the past seven years programme managing global initiatives in the manufacturing, banking, pharmaceuticals and mobile telecommunications sectors. Mark is particularly interested in supplier relationship management and is one of the driving forces behind the International Procurement Leadership Forum (IPLF) initiative.

 

 

 

 

 

Lynette Ryals

Lynette Ryals | Case study

is professor of strategic sales and account management at Cranfield School of Management and a director of its Key Account Management Best Practice Research Club. She is a registered representative of the London Stock Exchange and the only women in the UK to have passed the fellowship examinations of the Society of Investment Professionals.  Lynette has a PhD in customer profitability.
