Uwe Schulte

Uwe Schulte Opinion

is vice-president, global supply management, at Unilever. In August 2005, his role was expanded to cover both the multinational’s home and personal care and foods divisions worldwide following a reorganisation of the function. Uwe joined Unilever in 1980 as a chemist and has worked in research, production, development and quality assurance positions in the UK, Germany and Brazil.

is executive chairman of Future Purchasing, a management consultancy specialising in procurement improvement for large European companies. He is also co-leader of the Procurement Excellence in Government consortium and the Future Purchasing Research Foundation, which promotes innovation and knowledge creation. Jon has worked with CPOs in household-name firms for over 20 years.

 

 

 

 

Andrew Likierman

Andrew Likierman Performance measurement

is professor of management practice at the London Business School, where he is working on ways to improve performance measurement in organisations. Sir Andrew’s other roles include non-executive directorships at the Bank of England and Barclays Bank, and his previous experience has included running a textile plant in Germany and being head of the UK’s Government Accountancy Service. 

 

 

 

 

Hugh Baker

is a principal in Booz Allen Hamilton’s global operations practice, based in London. During the past decade he has contributed to procurement thinking and results at a wide variety of international clients, in industries from banking to media, and retail to high technology. Hugh started his career at Rolls-Royce Aerospace and has an MA in manufacturing engineering from Cambridge University. 

 

 

 

 

Yossi Sheffi

Yossi Sheffi Supply risk management

is professor of engineering systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and director of the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics. He has consulted with governments and leading companies worldwide, and between 1987 and 2000 co-founded five supply chain management technology firms – since acquired by the likes of Sabre Group, Ryder Systems, Retek and Manhattan Associates.

 

 

 

 

Kees Linse

Kees Linse Interview

is executive vice-president, contracting and procurement, at Shell in The Hague. He joined the company with a PhD in physics in 1978 and has worked in manufacturing, business and management roles in the Netherlands, UK, Indonesia and Korea. Prior to taking the CPO job in February 2003, he was on the management board of Basell, a joint venture with BASF and the world’s largest producer of polypropylene.
