He has led the 4,000-strong function since 2001 and is responsible for over $100 billion of annual spend. Bo started his car industry career as a manager at Saab in 1987, having been an army officer in his native Sweden.

is global purchasing vice-president at Firmenich, a Geneva-based maker of flavours and fragrances, where he leads a team of 90 people and is responsible for a budget of over $1 billion. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, he spent four years as senior vice-president of purchasing at Quest International and, before that, four years as a European VP at SmithKline Beecham and nine years at Mars.

Since joining McKinsey in 1996, he has focused on operations assignments with a particular focus on manufacturing and procurement, and has worked out of its offices in New York and Silicon Valley. As well as two degrees, Nico has a PhD in energy and chemical engineering.
